Paul Heyman drops a bomb on social media regarding Brock Lesnar’s next opponent

2 min read

Current WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar has disappeared from the scheme of things since April’s Greatest Royal Rumble event. The WWE RAW superstar is not expected to wrestle again until Summer Slam which is supposed to take place on 19th August. However, it looks like we are one step closer to knowing about his next opponent.

Paul Heyman’s Hint

Lesnar’s manager Paul Heyman discussed the future of the wrestler in a lengthy facebook promo in this weekend. He mentioned a number of worthy challengers to The Beast but it seemed he gave specific attention to Bobby Lashley. He dedicated much of the post to the man who beat Sami Zayn at Money in the Bank.

Heyman criticized Lashley for his meagre amateur wrestling style and mixed martial arts résumé in comparison to Lesnar’s. He also called him “the punchline to a joke about the pitiful level of pseudo-athletes who think they are even in Brock’s league.”

Earlier Rumours

Although Heyman may be working with fans, this is not the first time that a potential clash between Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley is being speculated. In earlier WWE rumors, the former star from Impact was earlier mentioned as a worthy opponent for Brock before Wrestlemania 34. A number sources reported that Lashley may be Brock’s first opponent post Wrestlemania but the buzz quickly died down.

Lesnar at WWE

Lesnar won his Universal Championship title at Wrestlemania 33 when he beat Goldberg for his fifth world title in WWE. He successfully defended the title against Samoa Joe at the Great Balls of Fire event for the first time.

Lashley at WWE

Lashley’s recent feud with Sami Zayn may make the bout between Lesnar and him an unpopular one but Bobby Lashley has been named a part of the number one contender’s scramble at Extreme Rules which is on 15th July.
